'Malkinson's Iceberg' by Sean Bw Parker
The Falsely Accused
Prisoners! Prisoners! Whom did you slight,
To deserve being stitched up so water tight?
Who with hatred and fire in eyes,
Would deny your view of big blue skies?
To what do they dare aspire?
What now cold heart once bellowed passioned fire?
Prisoners! Prisoners! Hold tight the rail,
The Crown Jester did write the tale,
To protect the honey pot; never to fail,
All for coin and a pint of bitter ale,
Tis the same across the King's every dale.
Prisoners! Prisoners! Hold back your despair,
Twelve half asleep good citizens are without care,
Let none see you frown even though
Those mocking wigs are readying to hit town.
Recall the rocking gavel so trite,
Chorusing we are with right.
Prisoners! Prisoners! Do not spill your life,
Even though your world be full of strife.
Whose judgemental hand cast you from sight,
To wrestle alone demons dark as night?
Do they who milled your chains with a sneer,
Shout through welded bars words as sharp as a spear?
Prisoners! Prisoners! When all the crowd show doubt,
Do not be bitter; be better, stand and fight another bout.
Let not the sinews of your heart twist tight,
Whether black or white,
All face being lied about.
Mark now, words of truth carry more clout.
Prisoners! Prisoners! Hear not the winner's shout.
Do not utter a loser's curse as would any lout.
Be eloquent as once to loved ones in moonlight,
Now ghosts condemmed into twilight,
Felled by press, trolls and vegeance ritual sites.
All for closure for the slighted one.
Is this right?
Prisoners! Prisoners! Expect no escape Pimpernel,
Razor wire is to ring you in hell.
When the summer sweats you in a clammy cell,
Let not your misery overfill the well.
But ask of him in whose image you are cast as kin,
Did he also make the perpetrator so full of sin?
