Sonia Robinson Blasio and Pascal Blasio
Pascal Blasio, who maintained his innocence throughout the past seven years of imprisonment, passed away on Saturday 28th February 2026.
Pascal’s death has left his family and friends devastated and searching for answers. His wife, Sonia, who stood by him throughout his trial, spoke of her heartbreak and anger at the suffering he endured in his final days.
“It was so cruel, the way he suffered. I am so angry right now and so emotional,” she said.
Sonia described the unusual circumstances surrounding their final visit. The family were permitted to enter the prison grounds and into the pods together something staff reportedly said they had never witnessed before in all their years working within the prison system.
“It was such a strange scenario,” Sonia explained. “Almost as if they were trying to compensate for what had happened regarding his health and the lack of healthcare he received. One of the guards even said they had never seen anything like it, no one has ever been allowed a visit on site in that way before.”
Pascal consistently maintained his innocence and was pursuing avenues to challenge his conviction. His family remain determined that his voice will be heard.
